Hi! I’m Amy and I’m a licensed professional counselor in the state of Missouri. Along with my Master’s of Science degree in Counseling Psychology, I have a post-master’s veteran behavioral health certificate. Over the past 8 years, I have worked across a wide spectrum of clients. I have experience with anxiety, depression, bipolar, substance use disorders, anger management, family conflict, crisis intervention, goal setting, and with clients just wanting to optimize their mental health. My personal approach to therapy is to create a partnership with a client working towards the goals the client wants to achieve. From the first conversation until the end, I maintain unconditional positive regard towards my clients. I believe therapy can be both about coping skills and achieving goals, but also about the process of discovering yourself through talk therapy. I utilize cognitive-behavioral approaches, dialectical behavioral techniques, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques depending on individual needs of clients.
