My name is Areeba Johnson, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to transforming lives. I have over 15 years of experience working in the mental health community. I graduated from Barry University in 2013 with a Masters in Social Work. My experience includes providing individual and group therapy, working with children, youth and families. I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings for a wide range of issues from depression, anxiety, domestic violence, addiction, and child abuse. I have training in the following evidence best practices: Nurturing Parenting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Trauma Informed Care, Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Moral Reconation Therapy. Being raised in a Caribbean household, I understand how culture often plays a role in how we process and heal from trauma. Making the decision to receive counseling can be challenging that requires a level of vulnerability and transparency.
