Hello! My name is Dr. Carissma Hughes Valentine. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor in the state of Texas, and a Certified Depression & Mood Disorder Treatment Professional. I have experience working with LGBTQ identified persons, Military Veterans, elderly, assault survivors, hospice patients and family, couples, persons with mood disorders, ADHD, persons with history of trauma and children/Adolescents.  I take a person-centered approach and remind each client that they are the experts on their own lives. I am enthusiastic about helping individuals and families improve communication, work through crises, indulge in self-care, work through trauma, manage difficult feelings and emotions, and reduce anxiety and worry. I also strongly focus on self-love, self-forgiveness, self-esteem, and self-worth.           I have earned a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Bowling Green State University; a Masters in Social work from Texas State University; a Masters in Non-profit Management from Johnson & Wales University, and a Doctorate in Social work from Walden University.  I look forward to working with you!
