Certification in Geriatric Adult Mental Health. Over the years, I have worked with individuals diagnosed with medical illness, helping them cope and manage life stressors. For the past, 20 years, my focus has been working closely with adults, families and caregivers dealing with chronic medical issues, supporting them through counseling and linking them with relevant community resources as they progress through treatment and/or end of life. This includes counseling with caregivers, how to help and support their loved ones, loss of control issues, changes in family structure/dynamics and compassion fatigue. I also have experience in providing bereavement counseling services to families, with the loss of a loved one, and caregivers learning how to manage as their loved ones change as they manage chronic illness.
