Hello! I’m really glad you reached out for support. My name is Casey Gold and I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist based in Los Angeles, CA. As a therapist, my style is collaborative and strengths-based, meaning I see you as the expert in what you need and I see me as the conduit for helping you get there. I offer a warm and supportive environment to do our work together. I’m great at listening, reflecting meaning, and finding solutions when you are ready. The main disciplines which I draw from are person-centered theory (you are the expert), psychodynamic principles (exploration of your past and its impact on the present), cognitive behavioral therapy (changing thoughts and behaviors that can contribute to presenting problems and symptoms), and mindfulness practice (grounding in the here-and-now). Together, we’ll assess your needs and weave together the right approach. I believe the counseling relationship is a microcosm for life. In counseling, we practice asking for help, being vulnerable, offering and receiving feedback, and growing our sense of self. I uphold a safe environment and a positive therapeutic relationship in order to facilitate our work together. The skills we practice in session will directly translate to your growth outside of the counseling setting.
