I am a mental health counselor licensed in Florida with over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field. My experience has allowed me to work with clients with a wide range of concerns and diagnoses, including adjustment disorders, mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, relationship and family issues, drug and alcohol/co-occurring disorders, personality disorders, and severe, persistent mental illness. I specialize in behavior therapies, working extensively in symptom and behavior management, stress management, self esteem/confidence, decision making, and difficulty with coping skills. My counseling style is collaborative and honest. I tend to work from a cognitive-behavioral perspective, helping you to explore and identify the thoughts, behaviors, and patterns that are causing dysfunction and helping you develop healthier ways of navigating life’s challenges. I believe that every person has the ability to change the patterns and behaviors leading to negativity in their life. I also believe that every person can live a fulfilling life, even having mental health issues and past or current struggles. In addition to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I utilize techniques from acceptance and commitment therapy, solution focused therapy, and goal oriented therapy.
