About me
Hi and welcome! My name is Chami (Chay-me) Kane, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Mississippi and Tennessee. I have been working with families, individuals, and kids for the last twenty years, and I have a masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Specialist in Counseling Education. I have worked in a variety of settings including private practice, schools, and mental health agencies.
I have been married to my husband, Jon, for twenty years, and we have two miracle daughters, one in middle school and one in elementary. We also have two fur babies, Cookie and Cocoa. I have personally struggled for five years with infertility and battled cancer twice, and I believe that our trials can sharpen us and surprise us with blessings we did not expect. I believe my battles helped me become a better counselor and empathize with and care for those who are hurting on a different level than before.
My counseling style is warm and encouraging and a place where you can share hard things and still feel accepted. I use a variety of approaches including cognitive behavioral, rational emotive, and solution-focused, but it is tailored to meet your needs and help accomplish your goals for therapy.
You have already done one of the hardest things, which is taking that first step and reaching out! I look forward to learning more about you and walking through this together.
