About me
My name is Chris Jainandan, and I have been part of the mental health and substance abuse field for about eight years now. My goal and passion is to encourage people to be open about the issues that bother them, and to explore options that would enable them to get to a better place. For the longest time, getting help for mental health and substance abuse disorders has been stigmatized, and one of my goals is to lessen this stigma to the point of it being hopefully non-existent. I look forward to getting to know you and working with you if you choose me as your counselor, and I hope that the entire therapeutic experience will be a positive one for you!
A little about me: I was born in the South American nation of Guyana, and relocated to the United States when is was in my early teens. I attended Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, where I obtained by Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I then pursued my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University. I have been working in the mental health field in a variety of areas for quite some time before I became a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. Some of my areas of expertise include dealing with anxiety and depression, mood disorders, family and relationship issues, as well as trauma related issues. I am also a nationally certified counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
