Hello! My name is Christine Jones and I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 22 years. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work and Criminal Justice from the State University of New York at Albany. I am currently a high school school social worker in New York, and have provided counseling to adults in this role. I worked for many years with middle school aged students and their families, as well. Prior to beginning my work in the public school system 17 years ago, I provided therapy to adolescents and teens working through behavioral and substance abuse challenges. In all of these positions, I worked with their families, as many of the parents and caregivers utilized the counseling I provided. I work to develop a collaborative relationship with my clients. I will spend time learning about you, as well as what has helped you work through difficult times in the past. We all possess different skills, strengths, and strategies we know work best for us, and I will try to empower you to find (or revive!) these strengths within yourself as part of the counseling process. I can also help you identify barriers that may be getting in the way for you, or may be contributing to you feeling “stuck”. I can help you move forward in a variety of areas of your life, including in your role as an a spouse, a parent, a friend, an employee, a supervisor, or within any other significant relationship or role you would like to move in a more positive or different direction with. I currently work with individuals who struggle with managing their emotions and responses to situations, as well as people who grapple with anxiety, depression, relationship and communication issues, loneliness, stress management, technology addiction, alcohol and substance abuse, PTSD, trauma/abuse, LGBTQ issues, medical issues, caregiver stress, and ADHD. My warm and conversational approach combines solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness techniques.
