I have been a social worker since 1997. I have worked with people struggling to get into recovery from opiates and other drugs, chronic and persistent mental illness, Deaf/Hearing Impaired, veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as the first Gulf War and their dependents and Vietnam era veterans, and LGBTQ individuals. After appropriate evaluation, I could provide letters for gender affirming surgery (if, in my clinical opinion, you meet the criteria for surgery). In addition, I have worked with female, male, and trans survivors of sexual assault. Because of my work with sexual assault survivor and combat veterans, I am experienced with treatment of trauma. In my work with the LGBTQ Community, I have of course, seen the remarkable progress towards greater inclusion and equality over decades. I have also seen how individuals and the community still struggle in the face of stigma in the ebbing tides of the current social and political climate.
