I am a psychotherapist, practicing in downtown Manhattan, who works with individuals, couples and families of diverse ages, cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations. I practice psychodynamically oriented psychotherapy and work on a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, sexual orientation, gender identity, difficult interpersonal relationships, occupational problems, trauma and chronic illness. My training in social justice and systemic oppression are valuable when working with clients experiencing racism, homophobia, sexism, poverty and intimate partner violence. I am here to help you identify the sources of dis-ease and discomfort in your life and then assist you in responding to them. You will find me to be empathetic and compassionate, but I will challenge you when necessary. My practice is based on a perspective of equality amongst the client and therapist. Together, with thoughtfulness, intention and humor, we will work to alleviate the concerns that are bringing you to therapy.
