Licensed Marriage Family Therapist,
Couples Counseling Supervisor

“It is my philosophy that we are often hurt in relationships and heal in relationships. Let’s take the first steps together to begin the healing process.”

Corie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Corie also has a passion for working with people who identify within the LGBTQIAA, Kink, and Non-Monogamous relationship communities. She works hard to provide an affirming therapeutic, non-judgmental and safe atmosphere for her clients. Some of her specialties include working with individuals and couples on relationship dynamics, transitions, divorce issues, non-monogamy, foster care and adoption issues, depression, anxiety, as well as PTSD and trauma. She incorporates Animal Assisted Therapy in her practice by including her therapy dog, Sheamus, in most sessions. Corie is a trauma-informed therapist trained in the use of EMDR therapy as well as a level two trained Gottman Method Couples therapist.

Corie utilizes a collaborative, strength-based approach to help support individuals, families, and couples in creating positive change in their relationships and their lives. She strives to create a warm, accepting environment to allow for healing and growth to occur. Growth can take many forms in one’s life: improved relationships and sense of well-being, enhanced sense of self, and a reduction of painful or unwanted symptoms; her intention is to help you navigate this in order to enhance self-awareness and healing, both in your individual life and relationships.

Previous to coming to Next Step, Corie worked in both Private Practice and a Community Mental Health setting for the past few years in which she gained invaluable experience working with a wide range of presenting problems and relationship dynamics. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, exploring dog-friendly restaurants with Sheamus, reading, and learning to play the guitar.
