About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Licensed School Social Worker (LSSW), and a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC) in the state of North Carolina. For the past 25 years, I have been providing supportive social work services for youth and families in a public school setting. Additionally, I have been offering part-time substance abuse services for 22 years and mental health clinical services for 7 years. My main goal is to assist individuals in overcoming obstacles and reaching their full potential.
Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse age groups and special populations, gaining valuable experience in addressing various mental health conditions such as substance abuse, depression, anxiety, addiction, anger management issues, grief/loss, trauma, and relationship conflicts, among others. In my therapeutic approach, I adopt a Person-Centered perspective. I firmly believe in focusing on an individual’s abilities, rather than their condition, disability, or limitations. By tailoring treatment to their specific needs and circumstances, I aim to help them achieve their personal aspirations. However, depending on the individual’s requirements, treatment goals, and desired outcomes, I may employ different therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
