About me
Hello,
I am a passionate and well qualified Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I earned a Master of Art in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2012. I have over 13 years of experience working with adults and children who have been abused or neglected and that have various substance abuse and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief and ADHD.
I like to adapt sessions to assist clients in identifying stressors, identify motivations, build support systems, and increase functioning. I am an excellent communicator and client advocate, experienced at working with diverse age groups and socio-economic populations.
The counseling experiences are one that will require trust commitment and requires participation from all parties involved. My goal is to establish a therapeutic relationship with each client while striving to be honest and maintain professionalism at all times. I will be utilizing techniques from an eclectic approach to counseling, primarily focusing on Family Systems, Person Centeredness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Techniques will include journaling, and active listening. Homework assignments will be given as appropriate and relaxation exercises may be presented to encourage problem solving and coping skills. I believe in empowering individuals to overcome personal obstacles that may be keeping them from reaching their goals in life.
I hope to hear from you soon,
Warmly,
Denotra
