About me
As a Therapist I completed my Master degree in Marriage and Family Counseling in 2001, at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I have been providing Community Based Counseling since 1986, and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2005. I am also a Doctoral candidate in Pastoral Counseling ABD (all but dissertation). I have provided counseling to people of all ages and issues in a wide variety of treatment facilities to include my community as well as hospital inpatient and outpatient settings.
I have training in families and couples, parenting issues, self-esteem, grief and loss, psychological trauma, depressive mood disorders, ADHD, and anxiety disorders. My two greatest interests are the trauma that comes from a loss in our lives and helping couples work through a crisis in their relationship. The approaches I generally use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems models and Person Centered which fits my personality of truly caring for the good of my clients. My counseling will reflect my values, and at the same time honor your beliefs and goals.
