About me
I am licensed in Florida with 3 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
I see counseling as both an honor and a privilege for the opportunity to share space with a client and begin an exploration. The goal is to discover inner strengths to empower for healing and life prosperity. These strengths are value-based and drive one through any barriers the client may encounter. This journey with my clients is made in a safe and non-judgmental environment where we can work through these difficult issues and reach their personal goals.
My clinical method is a multi-modality approach, consisting primarily of: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Within these models, I integrate positive psychology, where we focus on hope, encouragement, and gratitude, along with mindfulness. My clients will find that I incorporate a team approach on this journey, where we celebrate victories along this therapeutic path together. My experiences in counseling derive from working with anxiety, depression, PTSD/CPTSD/trauma, grief, and relational conflicts.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I earned my master’s in counseling from Liberty University and my Master’s in Divinity from Andrews University. I am currently obtaining my Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology, concentrating on attachment and trauma treatment with Neurofeedback.
Before obtaining my counseling degree, I worked as a pastor for over 17 years, which gave him the experience of working closely with individuals and families from all walks of life. I have been trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) and am a certified clinical trauma specialist CCTS-1.
I served in the Army and have experience with veterans and their spouses. My greatest passion is my family, and I love to spend time with my three adult children and wife of 27 years.
