About me
The word trauma can sound scary and feel intense and overwhelming. I specialize in working with complex trauma, anxiety and mood disorders, eating disorders, and personality disorders. I am extensively trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and EMDR. EMDR is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress (EMDRIA website, 2020).
I truly believe that trauma is stored deeply in our bodies and healing starts with self-awareness, which is why I am very passionate about incorporating various non-traditional approaches to trauma therapy, such as bodywork, trauma-informed yoga, expressive arts, guided imagery, and more!
I believe that no two people will have identical psychological experiences and, therefore, will require individually tailored psychotherapy and I am excited to discover the right approach for you! It takes tremendous courage to embark on the journey of personal growth and I consider it an honor to be part of this experience!
