About me
Hello and Welcome,
Are you feeling stressed, tired, depleted or struggling with unwanted thoughts, emotions or behaviors? Do you have a hard time disconnecting from areas in your life causing you concern, and finding the peace and joy in everyday moments?
Perhaps relationship issues have been weighing you down, leaving you to feel discontent, lonely, emotionally exhausted…or maybe there is something that you cannot seem to get past, no matter how hard you try…a new phase of life, life challenge, or significant change that seems to be taking away from your overall sense of happiness, life satisfaction, and personal well-being.
It takes a strong and courageous person to seek out counseling. Rest assured, you have to come to the right place, and I am here to help you.
My name is Kelly Studer, MA, LMFT. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 12 years of clinical experience. I am licensed in both California (MFC 40954) and Missouri (License No. 2020032886). I hold a Masters of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in California, and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, graduating with high honors in both programs. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse population of clients in non-profit, educational, and clinical settings. The ages of clients range from infancy (mother/infant work) through adulthood. Due to the various therapeutic settings I have worked in, I have gained experience working with a wide range of clinical issues, including but not limited to, depression, dysthymia, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, relationship/attachment issues, adjustment disorders, parenting issues/concerns, and child/adolescent issues.
In addition to my direct therapy work, I have 6 years of clinical management experience supervising, managing, and directing clinical service programs serving the mental health needs of the community. Originally from Southern California, I currently reside in the St. Louis, Missouri area, and maintain a Marriage and Family Therapy license (LMFT) in both states. If you live in either state, I am more than happy to work with you!
My approach is Client Centered, but I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Evidence and Research based Mindfulness techniques and interventions, all based on what appears to be most beneficial to you and your treatment.
I believe strongly in building the therapeutic alliance between client and therapist, and that the concepts of trust, empathy, non judgment, and the willingness to be open to exploring are the keys to building a solid and successful clinical relationship.
Together, we will work on developing a treatment plan that provides the best fit to address what is bringing you to therapy, and to help get you on the road to a more satisfying, fulfilling, and joyful life.
I look forward to working with you,
Kelly Studer, MA, LMFT
