My name is Laura Cox. I am an experienced practitioner in the field of social work and counseling. I earned my Bachelors Degree with a minor in Psychology and my Masters Degree in Social Work. I worked for 13 years as a counselor for individuals and families and for almost 3 years as an adjunct professor teaching Masters level Social Work students. I embrace the concepts of understanding a person in their environment and helping people learn how to guide and help themselves. Brief, solution focused therapy is my strong suit. I have experience helping people work through anxiety, depression, grief and helping people and families cope with medical issues. In my off time, I enjoy any adventure. I love any, and all water sports including scuba diving. The ocean is quiet below the waves. I believe a lot can be learned when you remove the noise.
