About me
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, registered with over 30 years of experience working as a psychotherapist in Miami, FL and in Argentina. I am certified with the Florida Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. Upon receiving my MS in Psychology in 2007 from Carlos Albizu University, I have worked in my private practice in Miami, Florida.
I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including parenting problems, adjusting to new babies in the family, post -partum depression ( and everything related to pregnancies and birth), relationship issues, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, ADHD, ASD, and more. I have extensive experience working with very young children, school age children and adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I provide child behavior management, coping and adjustment skills, couples therapy. My work with individuals and couples is based on a humanistic and strength-based foundation to allow for connection, self-discovery, and healing. I have also helped many people who process and heal from physical trauma or emotional abuse. I also have experience in LGBT, family conflicts, career difficulties, addiction, coping with life changes.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I provide a supportive, nurturing and safe environment through a tailored dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique emotional and mental needs.
My therapeutic approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psycho dynamic. I utilize solution-focused approach, family systems, Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), based on Relational-based theory and also use cognitive-behavioral techniques to help address obstacles in the everyday life and improve self-esteem, self-awareness, and work towards moving forward with life.
In addition, I am bilingual in Spanish and frequently conduct therapy in this language. It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change.
