I believe the foundation to wellness involves assisting one to learn, identify, and understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while providing skills to respond to and manage ones thoughts, emotions and behaviors effectively resulting in improved mental fitness, mind and body. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. My expertise includes substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief and loss, and trauma as well as guiding people to decrease stress and living a more gratifying way of life. In my practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person Centered Therapy. Therapeutic modalities integrate literature, CBT and DBT exercises, and exposure therapy. I received a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Medialle College and hold a certificate of generalized DBT from University of Rochester. I have volunteered as a crisis counselor for The Trevor Project. As a former medical professional, I connect my knowledge of the mind and body to create positive change.
