Hello, I am Dr. Lisa Parks Johnson. I am a Licensed Certified Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in the state of Illinois. I hold a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. I have over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist. My experience includes working with individuals, families, and couples with presenting issues ranging from substance abuse, domestic violence, grief and loss, women issues, parenting, trauma, anxiety, depression, and anger. I use a holistic approach that is strength-based and specific to the needs of the individual. I am an avid believer that the road to recovery begins with developing a healthy therapeutic alliance and providing supportive therapy to alleviate symptoms, improve self-esteem, manage impulses, regulate negative thinking, and reinforce the individual’s ability to cope with life stressors and challenges.
