About me
I am originally from South Africa. I moved to Chicago, joined the United States Navy, served 4 years on active duty, and another 7 years as a reservist. Since obtaining my masters degree in psychology, I have mostly enjoyed helping people in the correctional field. I have experience in treating self-esteem issues, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, suicidal ideation, coping, PTSD, and trauma related conditions. I have additional experience in using animal assisted therapy. I use evidence based, cognitive behavioral therapy with well-integrated approaches to obtain optimal health and wellness.
I have personal experience as an immigrant, a member of the United States military, and vast knowledge of the issues faced by individuals in corrections. Facing such issues has given me the additional understanding of how to treat individuals who face difficult times whether in or out of prison. I am very empathic, but direct. I build rapport quickly and focus on goals to obtain results as efficiently as possible. I believe in hard work, dedication, and finding methods to fit each of my clients’ lifestyle and interests.
I am licensed in Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, Delaware, and Alaska. I also have a license as a sex offender evaluator and have experience in working with individuals who are in need of this service.
I look forward to working with you and finding ways to deal with whatever situation you currently face. Together we can find a solution and obtain your better self.
