Hello, my name is Nichole Mathis. I am a Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC) in the state of Hawaii. After graduating from Chaminade University, I provided therapy for Child and Family Services and gained certification as a Therapeutic Foster Parent. I am a Veteran and Active Duty military spouse (now retired) and provided therapeutic services to Veterans, Military members, and their families and taught psychoeducational parenting classes to incarcerated Veterans. I provided clinical supervision and therapeutic services for Therapeutic Foster Care Programs individuals, families, and children & youth. I have experience working in a variety of settings, including incarceration, residential, community based, home based, and on-line. My specialized training and experience includes Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Career Counseling, foster care & adoption, couples navigating infertility, child welfare, child abuse prevention & intervention, domestic violence prevention & intervention, crisis prevention & intervention, parenting children with special needs, brief strategic therapy, compassion fatigue, cultural diversity, classroom management, anxiety, and depression. I am warm, empathetic, candid and direct. I take a non-judgmental solution focused approach to team with clients in creating and accomplishing goals. I have experience with and welcome clients from diverse populations, religions, ethnic identities, and LGBTQ. I am passionate about working with trauma , parenting, child welfare, safety, stress management, relationship discord, infertility, life transitions, anxiety, depression, goal setting, and more.
