About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with 11 years of professional work experience. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including trauma and abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault, family conflicts, stress and anxiety, depression, identity development, multicultural concerns, compassion fatigue, and coping with life changes. My approach to therapy is empathetic and diverse, using a culturally appropriate, trauma-informed, gender and sexuality-affirming lens. My theoretical framework is integrative to meet the needs of my clients, often working from a social justice and feminist theoretical orientation. I combine techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, existentialism, and humanistic approaches.
I see my role as a therapist is to be my clients’ advocate, guiding them toward positive change specific to their life issues. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Whether you are looking to explore your experience or have specific mental health concerns, I want to center what matters to you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
I look forward to working with you!
