I have almost 20 years of experience in assisting clients in working through life stressors that can cause anxiety, depression and overall discontent with their situation. I am very personable and trustworthy, taking time to build rapport with my clients so they feel they can share even the most upsetting or embarrassing details of the situation with me. I take a nonjudgmental, reflective approach, meaning, I let the client guide our process determining which issues to address at what time. I do not tell people what to do, rather assist them in coming to their own conclusions about which choices to make (or not make) as the case may be. I borrow strategies from a variety of therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and relational therapy. I have worked in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals and the criminal justice system, each of which has provided me with a unique perspective and skill set. I have extensive work in grief and trauma, particularly as it pertains to victims of crime. I use the various experiences I have had professionally to draw from when working with each new client.
