My name is Opal Minott, LCSW. I have been a therapist for over 30 years. and is currently licensed in Georgia, New York and Florida. I graduated from Fordham University and also have a post masters education from New York University. I have extensive amount of experience working in out-patient psychiatric hospitals, preventive agencies, veterans administration and private practice. I have conducted therapy with all age groups and worked with patients who have exhibited symptoms such as . depression, anxiety, job related issues, grief, midlife crisis, marital issues, ect. Some of the modalities use in therapy are Cognitive /Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal therapy, ect. My treatment approach to therapy is to first building a therapeutic/ trusting relationship, hoping that the patient can feel comfortable in divulging his/her problems. During that time, I will explore the goals the patient wants to work on and resolve. As a therapist, I believe in being able to listen attentively, while being supportive and helping patient gain insight into his/her problems and help them to develop the skills to work through the issues.
