Rose Marie Rine, P.T., Ph.D. is sole proprietor of Specialty Therapy Source LLC, has numerous publications on the development of balance, the role of vestibular function in development, and the identification of and intervention for vestibular related impairments in children. She is on the faculty of the Vestibular Rehabilitation Certification course, which is held at Emory University. Her research focus has been on the development of clinical tests of vestibular function in children, examination of the functional impairments consequent to peripheral vestibular deficits in children (including balance, motor development and gaze stability), and the efficacy of intervention to ameliorate vestibular related impairments in children. She served as consultant on the NIH Toolbox project, being chair of the vestibular component of sensory modules. In addition she was a consultant on the National Children’s Study, being lead scientist for the sensory domain team. Dr. Rine has been invited to present her work at numerous national and international conferences and workshops.
Jennifer Braswell-Christy, P.T.,Ph.D. is an associate professor and program director of the physical therapy program at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. She received her doctoral training at the University of Miami where she tested outcomes for the improvement of gaze stability and postural control in children with vestibular hypofunction. She is invited to serve on the faculty at the Vestibular Rehabilitation Competency Course at Emory University. Current research interests: vestibular related impairments in children consequent to peripheral and central vestibular dysfunction, and intensive physical therapy for children with cerebral palsy.
Bree Corbin, MSPT is in active practice in WA, with a focus on treating patients with vestibular impairments. She worked with Dr. Rine on several projects (NIH Toolbox and VEMP testing, NIH funded projects), and assists Dr. Rine in providing 2-day courses throughout the U.S.
