About me
Overcoming life’s challenges can be difficult without the right tools. I provide those tools, along with empathy, active listening, and thoughtful reflection. In addition to my social work education, my professional experience and personal insights enhance the awareness, intuition, and expertise I bring to support my clients.
I understand how addiction can take control and the strength required to overcome it and maintain sobriety. I have extensive experience working with clients facing challenges such as drug and alcohol addiction, coping with the fear of death, grieving the loss of loved ones, healing from sexual abuse, navigating domestic violence, managing anger, and resolving relationship issues.
Some of my other specialties include improving low self-esteem, managing stress, anxiety, depression, grief and Loss, coping with divorce, and infidelity, and the power of forgiveness.
Most clients report feeling relieved after the first two sessions and keep using and applying the tools provided.
I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT, Strength perspective, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative therapy, alongside mindfulness practices. Additionally, I am trained in Eye movement desensitization Reprocessing, (EMDR). My goal is to support you in developing effective strategies to manage and overcome your challenges.
I have six years of experience working with Child Protective Services in New Mexico. I also spent two years at Springer Women’s Correctional Facility, where I provided individual therapy and facilitated a residential drug and alcohol group therapy program. Additionally, I served as a Clinical Supervisor/Director at Krossroads Integrative Health Services in New Mexico for two years, delivering both individual therapy and intensive outpatient services to individuals struggling with addiction.
I hold a BA in psychology & social & criminal justice, and a MA in social work. I also have valuable life experiences that enrich my knowledge and skills. I use this expertise to support you in your journey to recovery.
