Hello and welcome! My name is Sasha, I am a licensed counselor in Maine and Colorado (currently living in Maine with my partner, 2 dogs and 3 goats) and I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Connecticut State University. I have over 10 years of experience working in mental health with 5 of those years providing individual therapy as a licensed clinician. I’ve worked in residential and outpatient settings, with adults and children and in rural and urban areas. My goal is to help you recognize your strengths, break unhealthy patterns and grow as a person so you can reach your goals and tackle whatever obstacles life throws at you. I can challenge you when you need it and provide you with effective techniques that you can use right away. I’m a genuinely warm and empathetic person and that is my approach as a counselor as well. I have a lot of experience working with people who experience symptoms of depression, anxiety and trauma as well as bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. I utilize a combination of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and I have specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which is very effective in learning to manage emotions and tolerate distress. I am also in the process of getting a certificate in Animal-Assisted Therapy, so if you are an animal lover, you have come to the right place!
