My name is Sonny. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida with specialties in addictions and behavioral interventions. I have my Masters in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy from the University of Central Florida. I am a person centered, solutions-focused clinician. I believe in creating a space for my clients to feel safe being vulnerable and honest with themselves, while challenging them to take ownership of their feelings, thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. I have experience working with individuals building coping skills for anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health concerns, including personality disorders. I am also trained in EMDR therapy and enjoy using this practice to help clients challenge maladaptive thought patterns to improve self-esteem, reduce symptoms of PTSD and anxiety, and promote self-love. My clients generally appreciate that I am direct and genuine. I like to bring humor into my sessions to create a safe and comfortable space for having hard conversations. I am generally able to respond to messages after 8:00 PM (EST) Monday-Friday and during my standard scheduled appointment blocks.
