About me
Hello! Are you struggling to find balance and peace in your life as you face a life transition? Or, having thoughts of being unworthy of love, acceptance and joy? Be it a relationship, your career, personal growth, or life’s stressors, processing change and accepting oneself can be challenging. Accepting and adjusting to change can be challenging.
Finding the right person – the right counselor – to listen, to validate and to challenge you so that you can answer the difficult questions to help you better understand yourself. The right counselor will help you learn coping skills or make changes so that you can find love, acceptance and joy. The right counselor will provide you empathy, compassion and support, while holding you accountable to your goals.
I have been a social worker for more than 15 years and have experience working with adults from all different backgrounds who are facing a wide variety of life’s stressors. Much of my experience has been working with adults suffering from a behavioral and/or emotional issues because of medical or life transitions. My approach to therapy is to begin with a detailed psychobiosocial assessment that identifies your strengths and goals, to develop a treatment plan that is unique to your goals, and to provide therapy based on the principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused, client-centered, strengths-based, shame resilience and trauma-informed care.
When working with my clients, I strive to make each therapy session positive, respectful, authentic and safe and to provide a minimum of one strategy in each session to work towards your goals. My clients have always told me that they find me to be caring, calming, supportive and nonjudgmental, while being honest and direct. As your therapist, you can expect me to provide you the support and tools you need to learn more about yourself and make healthy changes.
Taking that first step to schedule for therapy services takes great courage. I know how hard it can be to begin the path of personal growth and to address our own weaknesses. And, I would be honored to work with you and to be a part of your journey!
