Hello! My name is Shamaria Fahie and it will be my pleasure to connect with you! I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology as well as a Bachelor of Social Work from Texas Woman’s University in 2014. I obtained a Master of Social Work from Howard University in 2015. I am currently an independent clinical social worker in the District of Columbia (LICSW), Maryland (LCSW-C), and Virginia (LCSW), with an integrative approach to therapy that is first and foremost client-centered. I have eight years of clinical experience which encompasses a mix of inpatient, outpatient, and social service practice. Now that we have gotten my educational background and experience out of the way, ultimately it is my passion, compassion, and intuition that allows me to build rapport and drives my practice. I have worked with a diverse client list to include those with mental health diagnoses, substance abuse addictions, social welfare challenges, and those who are simply looking for a deeper sense of self and/or someone to process life in all its facets. I am a proponent of authenticity and psychological safety, and a firm believer of eclectic supplements to the therapeutic process (music, nature, poetry, humor, etc.) that compliment who and where you are. My passion comes from the reward of listening to your narrative and being a purposeful part of your journey. For me, it is the positive purposeful impact that is my motivation and expertise.
