My name is Shannon and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Michigan. I have over 20 years experience working in various sectors in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings and have experience working with people with disabilities and their families. I work extensively and have the most experience with people who have acquired injuries and are attempting to redefine their lives. I have experience working with, workplace challenges, career difficulties, life transitions, anxiety, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and family/relationship conflicts. I use a person-centered, and solution focused approach in treatment. I primarily use evidence based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused counseling. I would describe my style as warm and supportive, and I will also challenge you to help you tackle the issues and struggles that are holding you back in a head-on manner.
