I am a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in the state of Illinois with 13 years of experience. I’m also a Clinical Supervisor approved by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). I provide professional mental health services and counseling to individuals, couples, and families and have worked with individuals from early childhood to adult age and later life in a variety of settings. These include research and university centers, outpatient clinics, private practice, and community and school settings. I offer support and consultation with a variety of problems and issues including depression, anxiety, relationship and family difficulties, couple satisfaction, parenting, life transitions, grief and trauma. I also have a particular interest and expertise in multi-cultural and cross-national clients and specialize in the treatment of cross-national marriages and families, relocation, homesickness, emigration, and adjustment to a new culture and environment at different stages of life. Because I believe that each person and family is unique and exists within a context, my approach integrates different models and schools of therapy. Interventions range from working on stress management, emotion regulation, CBT, mindfulness, and interpersonal skills to wider issues related to the exploration of one’s self-esteem, values, and sense of purpose. I use a range of approaches to fit each individual client’s world-view and to build a respectful, non- judgmental, collaborative, and compassionate relationship with each individual. I strive to meet you where you are and to work from that place of shared understanding to build goals in a collaborative manner. My personal style is warm and direct.
