Hello, my name is Stefanie Acierno, licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW), a psychotherapist who is dedicated to providing emotional and mental health services to adults, college students, and athletes living in Massachusetts. I have been a behavioral health provider for over 20 years, who has served in additional capacities as emergency services/crisis clinician in hospital settings, inpatient psychiatric & medical clinician, and clinical social work supervisor of a trauma hospital in Boston. I have years of experience working with populations at risk and co-occurring disorders in the Boston area. My educational background includes a Master’s in Clinical Social Work (MSW) from Boston University, a Master’s in Education (M.Ed) from Boston University, a BA in Social Rehabilitation from Assumption College, and currently pursuing a Doctorate of Psychology in Behavioral Health Leadership & Counseling from Walden University. I believe each individual is complex and there is not a one-size-fits-all solution or answer. I believe great clinical outcomes are often achieved through a strong therapeutic alliance and collaborative efforts between the clinician and the client; the expert of their own life. I want my clients to feel they are learning skills and strategies to use outside of their sessions. I have full confidence that everyone can grow into a fuller, happier person, even when they doubt their ability to do so.
